National Emergency Medal

The National Emergency Medal was approved in October 2011 for award to members of eligible organisations or individuals who rendered qualifying service in response to nationally significant emergencies within Australia.

The medal is administered by the Australian Honours and Awards Secretariat at Government House which provides a Secretariat to the National Emergency Medal Committee.

ADF personnel seeking to apply who were force assigned to Defence involvement in the national emergencies are to ensure their PMKeyS Operation Log reflects any service provided during these activities. Operation Log codes are:

ADF members that were force assigned are not required to nominate for the National Emergency Medal as a nominal roll report will be drawn from PMKeyS Operational Logs.

ADF members that were not force assigned are required to nominate for the National Emergency Medal, through the following points of contact:
