Operation Gateway

Operation Gateway is the Australian Defence Force contribution to the preservation of regional security and stability in South East Asia.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) provides maritime surveillance patrols in the North Indian Ocean and South China Sea as part of this commitment.

Operating out of Royal Malaysian Air Force Base Butterworth, the operation is a key aspect of the Malaysia-Australia Joint Defence Program.
