Defence wellbeing support

The issues examined by the Royal Commission may impact the Defence workforce, their families and the broader Defence community. Defence notes that suicide is a significant issue that effects many individuals and groups within the community.

Supporting the wellbeing of those impacted is a priority for Defence.

Resources

Current Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and their families are supported by their chain of command and have access to a range of assistance, including mental health, medical, legal, pastoral and social work services.

Veterans and their families have access to support from Department of Veterans' Affairs and Defence, who provide support including mental health, medical, and in some cases, legal support.
